Description: The dataset consists of 123 autobiographical narrative interviews conducted with managers, directors, CEOs and owners of private enterprises, collected in 2002–2004 throughout Silesia (Lower Silesia, Upper Silesia, Opole and Cieszyn regions). The material was collected for Markieta Domecka’s doctoral thesis entitled Manoeuvring Between Opportunities and Constraints: Polish Business People in the Time of Transformation, initially prepared at the Institute of Sociology of the University of Wrocław, then at the Centre for Sociological Research of the KU Leuven. The interviews were conducted by Markieta Domecka (in 2002) and sociology students during field trips organised in the summer of 2003 and 2004 and financed by the University of Wrocław.
