Projekt dotyczył umieralności osób doświadczających bezdomności w Polsce, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem skali zjawiska, możliwości wykorzystania danych administracyjnych oraz ograniczeń obecnego systemu gromadzenia informacji o zgonach.
Część jakościowa badania pozwoliła porównać praktyki upamiętniania zmarłych w Polsce i za granicą oraz pokazać, jak dokumentowanie zgonów i pamięć o osobach zmarłych mogą przyczyniać się do zwiększania społecznej widzialności problemu i rozwoju działań rzeczniczych. Składała się z obserwacji uczestniczącej w wydarzeniach upamiętniających zmarłe osoby, które wcześniej doświadczały bezdomności; analizy doniesień w mediach i social mediach o zgonach i wydarzeniach upamiętniających oraz z wywiadów. Przeprowadzono 9 wywiadów eksperckich z reprezentantami i reprezentantkami akademii oraz organizacji pozarządowych zagranicą; a także 14 wywiadów eksperckich w Polsce. Dobór osób do wywiadów miał charakter celowy i opierał się na ich doświadczeniu zawodowym oraz tematyce prowadzonych badań naukowych lub profilu działalności reprezentowanych przez nich organizacji.
W zbiorze znalazły się trzy transkrypcje rozmów z osobami, które wyraziły zgodę na umieszczenie zapisów rozmów z nimi w repozytorium.
